Being more than one
You, too, know that
loneliness
is being just one
and wanting to be more.
A laugh started then
followed
and fulfilled by friends -
A beauty seen, then
described,
and agreed upon -
A quietness enjoyed
and then shared -
“I’ll meet you
downtown.”
“What are you doing
tonight?”
or a walk
or a run
on a sunny seashore.
You, too, know that loneliness
is being just one
and wanting to be more
and love is being more than
